Rotorua Sights                                           
Morning or Afternoon Departures
The tour includes the Whakarewarewa Geothermal Reserve, New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute, Rainbow Trout Springs, Agrodome Sheep Stage Show and Dog Trials and the Rotorua Lakefront and Government Gardens.

 

Geothermal Wonderland Tour                     1/2 Day
The tour includes the Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Valley, Waimangu Volcanic Valley guided walk and lunch, the Buried Village and museum, and a stroll through the Redwood Memorial Grove.

 

Guided Half Day Volcano Adventure            1/2 Day

Drive through picturesque rural farmland and past the largest man-made forest in New Zealand, Kaingaroa Forest, to the base of Mt Tarawera Volcano.
Travel by 4 Wheel Drive vehicle up to the edge of the massive craters. Enjoy a short crater walk or for the more adventurous experience the famous scree slide into the crater, or hike to the summit at 1111 meters.
Your experienced local guide will give a commentary on Maori Legend, History and Volcanology. You may even catch a glimpse of some of our rare and unique wildlife in their natural habitat. Sturdy footwear and warm clothing essential. Tour time approx: 4.5 hours
 

 

HELICOPTER OPTIONS

Volcanic Safari                                  ~ 45min flight
An unforgettable helicopter flight experience featuring all of Rotorua's renowned activities and spectacular sceneries.  Highlights include:  Mt. Tarawera, Tarawera Falls, Volcanic Crater Lakes, Hells Gate, Waimangu Valley, Waiotapu and Whakarewarewa Thermal areas, native and man-made forests.   

White Island Landing                         allow 3 hours
Imagine exploring an active volcano !  Fly east, taking in views of lakes, forest and the volcanic fault line.  Land for ~ 1 hour to trek to the crater through remains of a sulphur works, boiling water, crystallized sulphur and much more.  On the return flight watch for dolphins and schools of fish on the surface.

   

MAORI CULTURE 

Experience the Spirit of Ancestral Maori


You will be transferred by coach to a purpose-built Maori village that will enhance the experience of what it may have been like to live hundreds of years ago in the world of "Te Maori".  You will travel back in time to experience the protocol of visiting another tribe's village. Begin with the Karanga and welcome; walk through a re-creation of the village; exchange family heritages and share action songs, hakas, waiatas and their meanings; feast at the traditional hangi meal.  You will be escorted by a local Maori guide. This is an unforgettable first-hand experience of Maori culture. .

BLACKWATER RAFTING (BWR1)

Floating in CaveCheck in at the Black Water Rafting Café   Take an amazingly serene, surreal and beautiful trip lit by the soft blue luminescence of glow worms as you “cave tube” through an underground environment where paved walkways and floodlights are markedly absent!  Enjoy the ups and downs, unders and overs and sounds of rushing water or absolute silence!  Bring a towel, your swimsuit, a camera and a smile!

 

 

WHITEWATER RAFTING
 

Kaituna River:                                     ~2hours                                  

Kaituna rafting.jpg (132360 bytes) The World's highest commercially sledged waterfall (7 meters). This steep and narrow canyon begins it's journey to the sea from an outlet at Lake Rotoiti. The tree lined gorges, turbulent rapids and breathtaking drops add up to pure adrenalin.  This exciting pool drop river has been mastered by the best guides / instructors in the business - so you're in the safest hands available. All specialist river equipment is provided, including full face helmets, white water hi-flow jackets and booties, sledges, all you need is 'Attitude'. Go Hard or Go Home!  Your guides will coach you how to ride these waves. Enjoy 19 rapids of adrenalin.

 

Rangitaiki River:                                 ~ 5 1/2hours.
Trip leaves at 11:00am daily.
The Rangitaiki River, 45 minutes from Rotorua, offers spectacular scenery and an abundance of wildlife and amazing flora. 2 hours on the water. No experience necessary
