Cairns

Cairns is known not only as the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef but is also surrounded by tropical rainforest, mangrove swamps and golden sand beaches. There is Kuranda, a village built in the rainforest highlands. The Tjapukai Aboriginal Dance Theatre to experience Aboriginal culture, wildlife parks and of course diving and snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef. A little further north is the Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest.
